Planning/Tendering Google to Invest $1 Billion in Constructing Data Center in the UK According to Reuters, the U.S. tech giant Google has announced plans to invest $1 billion in building a data center in the outskirts of London, its latest investment in the UK to meet the growing demand for internet services in the region. The data center will be located in Waltham Cross, about 15 miles north of central London. The UK government is encouraging corporate investments and providing funds for new infrastructure, particularly in growth sectors such as technology and artificial intelligence, describing Google's investment as a "huge vote of confidence" in the UK. UK Prime Minister Sunak stated, "Google's $1 billion investment demonstrates that the UK is an excellent tech hub with tremendous growth potential." 42,000 Residential Units to be Built in Dubai and Abu Dhabi by 2024 According to ZAWYA website, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are set to build 42,000 residential units by 2024. A report by global real estate services firm JLL predicts the delivery of 34,000 and 8,000 residential units in Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively by 2024. This forecast aligns with the robust real estate growth in Dubai, with 36,000 new units delivered in 2023, bringing the total to over 719,000 units. In Abu Dhabi, over 5,000 residential units were completed in 2023, totaling 284,000 units.

Award/Contract Signing China Energy Construction Group Signs Contract for Expansion of Mexico's Weisheng Plant No. 2 On February 4th, local time, China Energy Construction Group signed an EPC contract with Weisheng Mexico Limited for the expansion of Mexico's Weisheng Plant No. 2, marking the opening of China Energy Construction Group's marketing in Mexico in 2024. The project is located in the Inland Port Industrial Park in Silao City, Guanajuato State, central Mexico, with a construction area of approximately 5,400 square meters. In recent years, the investment prospects in Mexico have attracted increasing attention from Chinese investors and manufacturing companies, with pragmatic cooperation between China and Mexico continuously improving. The expansion project of Weisheng Plant No. 2 is the company's second industrial plant project undertaken in Mexico, demonstrating the owner's trust and affirmation of the company. China Energy Construction Group will continue to deepen its exploration of the Mexican market, further enhance its brand influence in Mexico.
China Communications Construction Group Wins Bid for Construction of Public Health Laboratory in Congo (Kinshasa) China Communications Construction Group Co., Ltd. recently won the bid for the construction of a public health laboratory in the Republic of Congo (Kinshasa). The project is located in Kisangani, the provincial capital of Tshopo Province, and involves the construction, pipeline laying, and interior decoration of the laboratory, with funding from the World Bank. This project is the company's first laboratory project won in the Republic of Congo (Kinshasa) market, marking a new breakthrough for the company in cooperation projects in the medical and health fields in this country and another foreign exchange project won by the company following the runway renovation project at Kisangani International Airport in the province. Upon completion, the project will further improve the medical and health service level in the region, strengthen the disease detection system in Congo (Kinshasa), and promote the improvement of the health system network in the northeastern region of Congo (Kinshasa).

Commencement/Under Construction Zhejiang Construction Investment Group's Hong Kong Huaying Company Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Territories Data Center in Hong Kong On February 2nd, the groundbreaking ceremony for the New Territories Data Center Development Project in Hong Kong was held by Zhejiang Construction Investment Group's Hong Kong Huaying Construction Co., Ltd. Shen Weizhong, Executive Vice President of China Mobile International Limited, and Guan Manyu, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Construction Investment Group and Chairman of the Hong Kong Company, attended the ceremony. The project has a total construction area of 103,700 square meters, with a winning bid price of 3.874 billion RMB, making it the fifth data center project undertaken by Huaying Company and setting a new record for the single contract amount of overseas projects in the group. The completion of the project will add another landmark project to the "new infrastructure" of data centers in Hong Kong, continuing to stimulate new momentum for Hong Kong's digital economy.
04. Completion/Operation Another Training Center Inaugurated in Namibia Recently, the Mariental Youth Training Center built by PowerChina International Group Limited was officially put into use and inaugurated in Namibia. Natangwe Ithete, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Namibia, and Agnes Jongalevero, Minister of Sport of Namibia, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, along with representatives from the Namibia Training Authority, the center's principal, student representatives, and more than 100 residents from the surrounding community. The Mariental Youth Training Center project covers an area of 7,800 square meters and consists of 12 buildings equipped with complete facilities, including classrooms, training workshops, smart communication office buildings, and hot water shower rooms. In addition, considering the needs of people with disabilities, the center is equipped with barrier-free elevators, disabled toilets, and wheelchair access ramps, demonstrating the concept of humanized design.
